According to the SovSpot Passport Ranking Index, the Ugandan passport is now ranked 78th. It allows visa-free travel to 66 countries. This results in an overall mobility score of medium-low. Visa-free entry and visas on arrival are available to Ugandan passport holders in countries such as Malaysia, Senegal, Singapore, and Barbados. Ugandan citizens require a visa to travel to around 163 countries across the world. The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Japan are among the countries that require a visa ahead of time.
The number of countries Uganda passport holders can enter without a visa (i.e. visa-free countries) and those Uganda passport holders can enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (i.e. visa-on-arrival countries) or an electronic travel authorization is added up to determine the Uganda passport ranking relative to other global passports (eTA). There are now 38 visa-free countries for Uganda passport holders, 28 visa-on-arrival countries for Uganda passport holders, and 0 eTA destinations. Uganda passport holders can visit a total of 66 countries without a visa, via a visa on arrival, or using an eTA. As a result, the Uganda passport is ranked 78 in the world.; In addition to these Uganda visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries, Uganda passport holders must apply for a physical visa or an eVisa to visit 163 other countries (i.e. visa required countries).
