With a total size of 1,221,037 square kilometers, South Africa is Africa's ninth largest country. As a result, it is one of Africa's biggest countries. A huge interior plateau is flanked by hills and coastal plains, giving the country its name. The climate is semiarid, with subtropical areas near the eastern coast. There are 59.6 million inhabitants in the country. Pretoria is the country's capital. Johannesburg, however, is the most populated city, with a population of roughly 5.6 million people. Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Durban are the country's other major cities. O is the busiest airport. R. Tambo International Airport is located in Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB).
