According to the SovSpot Passport Ranking Index, the Maldivian passport is now ranked 61st. It allows citizens of 87 countries to travel without a visa. It receives a medium mobility score as a result of this. Visa-free entry and visas on arrival are available to Maldivian passport holders in countries such as Singapore, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates. Maldivian passport holders, on the other hand, need a visa to enter roughly 142 countries throughout the world, which necessitates fairly extensive trip planning. The European Union as a whole, the United States, and Australia are all visa-required destinations.
The number of countries Maldives passport holders can enter without a visa (i.e. visa-free countries) and those Maldives passport holders can enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (i.e. visa-on-arrival countries) or an electronic travel authorization is added up to determine the Maldives passport ranking relative to other global passports (eTA). There are now 54 visa-free countries for Maldives passport holders, 32 visa-on-arrival countries for Maldives passport holders, and 1 eTA destination. Maldives passport holders can access a total of 87 countries without a visa, by visa on arrival, or using an eTA. As a result, the Maldives passport is ranked 61 in the world.; In addition to these Maldives visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries, Maldives passport holders must apply for a physical visa or an eVisa to visit 142 other countries (i.e. visa required countries).
