Liberland is a landlocked country located in Europe. It is bordered by Croatia to the east and south, and by Slovenia to the north. The country has a population of 2,000,000 people. Liberland was founded on April 13, 2015, by Vit Jedlicka. The country's territory is 3,000 square kilometers. The country's capital is called Liberland. The country has a flag and a national anthem, but Liberland has no diplomatic recognition (yet) from any nation.
Liberland claims to promote freedom and libertarianism, with a minimal government that provides only basic services such as defense and diplomacy. Right now, there is no population on the 7km2. It is possible to become an e-resident and a citizen on the official Liberland website.
Other micronations slammed Jedlika for first offering "Liberland citizenship" for 10,000 merits, which was comparable to $10,000 USD. Later, the price was adjusted to $5,000. A total of 140,000 citizenships will be granted for Liberland. Jedlika and his cabinet officially awarded Ron Paul, a former presidential contender in the United States, with a citizenship certificate on February 16, 2018.
