According to the SovSpot Passport Ranking Index, the Iraqi passport presently ranks 111th. It is regarded as the world's second-lowest-ranking passport. Only 26 countries offer visa-free entry to Iraqi passport holders, including Sri Lanka, Dominica, Madagascar, and the Seychelles. An Iraqi passport holder is required to obtain a visa for 203 destinations before going. As a result, the passport raking is extremely low on the total global mobility score. Iraqis must apply for a visa in advance for key locations such as the United States and the European Union. Applicants must show documentation such as evidence of funds and a return airline ticket when applying for a visa.

The number of countries Iraq passport holders can enter without a visa (i.e. visa-free countries) and those Iraq passport holders can enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (i.e. visa-on-arrival countries) or an electronic travel authorization is added up to determine the Iraq passport ranking relative to other global passports (eTA). Six Iraq passport visa-free countries, 19 Iraq visa-on-arrival countries, and one eTA destination are now available. Iraqi passport holders can visit a total of 26 countries, either without a visa, with a visa on arrival, or with an electronic travel authorization (eTA). As a result, Iraq's passport is currently ranked 111 in the world. Aside from these Iraq visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries, Iraq passport holders must also obtain a physical visa or an eVisa to visit 203 additional countries (i.e. visa required countries).
