According to the SovSpot Passport Ranking Index, the Botswanan passport is now ranked 61st. It allows citizens of 87 countries to travel without a visa. Visa-free travel and visa-on-arrival are available to Botswana passport holders in countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Israel, the United Kingdom, and Iran. Citizens of Botswana, on the other hand, need a visa to visit 142 countries across the world, including Thailand, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and the whole European Union. Because to the high visa requirement, the mobility score is medium.
The number of countries Botswana passport holders can enter without a visa (i.e. visa-free countries) and those Botswana passport holders can enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (i.e. visa-on-arrival countries) or an electronic travel authorization is added up to determine the Botswana passport ranking relative to other global passports (eTA). There are now 57 visa-free countries for Botswana passport holders, 28 visa-on-arrival countries for Botswana passport holders, and 2 eTA destinations. Botswana passport holders can access a total of 87 countries without a visa, via a visa on arrival, or using an eTA. As a result, the Botswana passport is ranked 61 in the world.; In addition to these Botswana visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries, Botswana passport holders must apply for a physical visa or an eVisa to visit 142 other countries (i.e. visa required countries).
