Uruguay Visa Requirements for Digital Nomads
The Uruguay digital nomad visa has the fewest eligibility requirements of any digital nomad visa. Digital nomads must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Uruguay digital nomad visa:
- Valid Passport – At the time of application, you must have a valid passport. Work Remotely – You must work remotely as an employee, freelancer, or business owner for a company or clients situated outside of Uruguay.
- Clean Criminal Record – You must have a clean criminal record if you want to renew your visa for another six months.
- Earn a Liveable Income – You must sign an affidavit stating that you can support yourself in Uruguay by working remotely.
The procedure is divided into two parts. After entering Uruguay on a regular tourist visa, candidates must fill out an online form with personal information and sign an affidavit stating that they have the financial resources to maintain themselves for six months.

After six months, applicants can seek for another six-month extension or permanent residency if they love Uruguay and want to stay.
