Anguilla inaugurated its residency-by-investment scheme in June 2019. The concept is appealing to investors looking for a tax-efficient residency.
Unlike other Caribbean programs such as St. Kitts and Antigua, the Anguilla program does not offer citizenship by investment or a second passport.
Applicants can qualify by investing in either the Capital Development Fund or directly in real estate.
Anguilla is one of the world’s most tax-friendly destinations. There is no personal income tax, business income tax, or even VAT.
If you pick the Anguilla Tax Residency Program, you will become a tax resident after spending 45 days on the island per year.
If you choose the permanent residence path, you can become a BOTC in as little as five years. The BOTC passport is a superb passport that permits you to visit Europe’s Schengen region without a visa for 90 days out of a 180-day period.

Benefits of an Anguilla Golden Visa
There are two key advantages to acquiring an Anguilla Golden Visa:
Low taxes. Anguilla has no income tax, capital gains tax, gift tax, inheritance tax, or corporate tax. So, if you qualify for a Golden Visa in Anguilla, you can benefit from low to no taxes, especially if you apply for the HVR program (see above).- A route to a British passport. Even though the Anguilla Golden Visa provides permanent residency, it also acts as a gateway to British citizenship. With a British passport, you can travel to over 180 countries without a visa.
- Path to citizenship;
- Permits dual/multiple citizenship;
- Safety and security;
- Lower taxes;
- Warm climate;
- Short processing time;
- English as official language.
Qualifications for Citizenship
Approved applicants are granted immediate permanent residency in Anguilla. Applicants are eligible for British Overseas Citizenship after five years of lawful residence in Anguilla.
This significantly shortens the path to citizenship. The naturalisation process to become a British Oversees Territory Citizen (BOTC) under this program requires that the applicant has been lawfully resided in Anguilla for 5 years prior to the date of application.
Under conventional residency standards, the period spent in Anguilla would have to be 10 years in order to qualify for BOTC citizenship.
BOTCs can apply for full British citizenship if they go through the registration process.
Anguilla Golden Visa Application Process
To apply for the Anguilla Golden Visa, you must submit your paperwork to a licensed agent, who will then apply on your behalf. Please bear in mind that after you apply and a final decision is reached on your Golden Visa application, you will obtain a residency card. The card serves as confirmation of your permanent residency in Anguilla, but in order to be eligible for citizenship, you must have lived in the island for at least five years.
